Cliff Kapono (better known as Bruddah Cliff to the @alohabeachclub community) is a PhD student at UCSD in his last year of studying chemistry. He also studies at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography. And when he's not analyzing molecules in the lab you might catch him doing these types of things in the water.
Surfing Magazine took the time to sit down Cliff to talk about how modern science is showing us just how surfing might be making surfers healthier on a molecular level. If you have some time, head over to the Surfing Magazine site to learn about his scientific endeavors and future plans to travel the globe studying the impact that ocean health has on the chemical makeup of surfers.
